Pentru a seta TV Tunerul, mergi in Mandrake Control Center -> Hardware -> TV cards si alege din lista modelul tau de tuner.
Ca si program vei folosi tvtime.
Daca nu merge ca mai sus, da mai multe informatii cu privire la chipsetul pe care il are placa ta, eventual uita-te pe ea daca nu ai documentatie.

Chipsetul este cx22883 iar tunerul este Philips MK3.
Rectific Conexant 23881. Am incercat in Control center dar nothing. Am setat card 34, tuner 44, radio 1 si pll 1. In momentul in care a inceput sa scaneze dupa programe, imi apare o fereastra pt. foarte scurt timp in care spune ceva despre v4l2 care nu poate fi gasit.
Cred ca am mai avut un utilizator care avea placa asta video si nu l-am putut ajuta... Poate in Mandrake 10.2 sa ai mai mult noroc odata cu un kernel mai nou cu care stiu sigur ca merge.
Da-mi si tipul tunerului TV, trebuie sa fie ceva de genul TDA...
Deschide o consola, logheaza-te ca root si da-i asa
modprobe tda...(ce tip de tuner ai)
modprobe cx88 (sau cx8800 vezi care merge)
Daca toate s-au incarcat ok si cand dai lsmod le vezi printre modulele incarcate, da drumul la un TVtime, seteaza-ti corect frecventele si fa o scanare.

Tipul tunerului este TDA 9887. Am incercat modprobe cx88 si nimic. Sa vad dupa amiaza cand ajung acasa. Nu stiu daca sa instalez driverul cx88.0.0.4 sau nu?

Incerca asa si daca nu merge incearca cu cs88.
Nu trebuie sa instalezi nimic, cs8800 nu este un driver, este un modul, face parte din kernelul linux.
PS.
Da detalii complete te rog si punctual altfel lungim discutia prea mult. Spune daca iti incarca modulele, daca le vezi cu lsmod etc etc... Tu ce intelegi din fraza "Am incercat modprobe cx88 si nimic." ? Eu nu inteleg...nimic...

Blue screen si atat.
Ai selectat totul corect ? Norma este PAL, banda de frecvente este Europe, tipul intrarii video este Television. Tvtime mai face figuri, asa ca lanseaza-l din linia de comanda astfel tvtime -norm=PAL -frequencies=europe si pe urma mai fa restl setarilor in interfata.
Cu xawtv ai incercat sa scanezi ?....

In tvtime in meniul lui nu imi apare nici unde optiunea de scanat canalele. Iar in xawtv nu mi-a gasit nici un canal. Sa nu fie valorile bune (tuner=44, card=34) sau este undeva o setare care trebuie facuta. Chiar nu mai stiu ce sa fac.
Cum nu iti apare nici o optiune in TVtime ? Este in primul meniu (Scan channels for signal).
Ce este cu optiunile alea ? Nu trebuie sa dai nimic, pai de ce am mai discutat despre modulele alea mai sus. Placa ta nu se regaseste in lista cu placi suportate si ca urmare daca selectezi ceva de acolo dai totul peste cap deoarece sistemul incearca sa folosesca setarile pentru alta placa...

Adyx, in tvtime nu imi apare nici o optiune de scnat canalele. Oricum ce vreau sa fac este sa fac o instalare noua de linux si dupa aceea sa incerc din nou sa-l fac sa mearga. Btw in momentul in care am instalat MDK mi-a recunoscut tv tunerul ca Hauppage WinTV(cx88xx). Eventual daca poti sa-mi timiti pe PM pasii care trebuie sa-i urmez ti-as fii foarte recunoscator.
La recunoscut ca Hauppage deoarece probabil au acelasi chipset...in fine, ideea este sa incarci tu manual modulele si sa faci un scan, mi se pare destul de simplu. In TVtime trebuie sa ai scanare ! Il folosesc de ani de zile... :-(

Dar de ce totusi nu am /dev/video si /dev/radio? Am instalat Suse9.2 si aveam aceste 2 intrari. Dar partea proasta era ca nu imi recunostea placa de sunet (on-board). Si tot in Suse am lansat kdetv si aparea acranul de setari, apoi dupa ce dadeam ok se bloca aplicatia. Si tot aici imi vedea tv-tunerul ca fiind Leadtek.
Maine cred ca am sa incerc compilarea kernelului daca am putin timp.
Nu este nevoie sa compilezi kernelul.
Nu mi-ai dat complet ce scrie acolo. Trebuie sa fie mai multe linii in jos care descriu tunerul tau.

Nu trebuie sa instalezi driverele, ai deja suport in kernel. Eu ti-am dat linkul doar ca sa arumentez ceea ce urma sa spun. Trebuie sa incerci sa scoti modulul deja incarcat si sa il reincarci asa cum ti-am spus acolo

ps: am o rugaminte: poti face un rezumat la discutia de pe forumul ala? pt ca eu nu prea pricep engleza :(
E prea stufos sa fac un rezumat. Este ciudat ca dmesg afiseaza atat de putine informatii. Vezi in topicul acela, pentru cei care au placa asta ca sistemul practic "o vede" in cele mai mici amanunte.

scuze cu intarzierea dar nu am mai avut timp sa mai sau de el.
intre timp am instalat suse 9.3 si tv-tunerul s-a instalat fara probleme. ba mai mult, il recunoaste chiar ca fiind leadtek. de aceea cred ca are drivere mai noi.

Strange. Nu imi dau seama din lista aia ce modul e incarcat pentru placa...
Daca iti merge pe SUSE poti folosi in continuare acea distributie. Chestia e sa iti faci treaba cu calculatorul. Daca as avea placa in sistem probabil ca as reusi sa o instalez, dar asa la distanta cateodata e cam aiurea sa faci chestii de amanunt. Sunt convins ca merge si pe Mandriva, trebuie doar sa stai putin pe net sa vezi ce prticularitati are.
