Echipa Mandriva a anuntat va reveni la un ciclu de lansare a noilor versiuni de 6 luni. In acest scop au lansat versiunea de testare Alpha a noii distributii Mandriva 2007.1

Acesta versiune poate fi instalata in 2 moduri: via FTP (in directorul devel/2007.1) sau via imagini ISO:

o A dual architecture (i586 and x86_64) CD. You can use it on both 32- and 64-bit x86 machines, the installer will detect your processor and boot the correct version of the installer. If you want to use a 32 bit installation on a 64 bit machine, you can select it by pressing F3 then F6 at the boot prompt. You are highly encouraged to add a Internet source of packages during the installation, because this CD only include the minimal set of packages for a very basic system.

Am descarcat imaginea si am test-o. Primele impresii:
- a recunoscut placa mea video (Geforce4);
- nu include MCC, configurarea retelei se face din meniul NetApplet (inclusiv VPN)
