am si eu o mare rugaminte, sunt incepatoare si chiar am nevoie de ajutor la instalarea webcam-ului in mandriva 2008. m-ar ajuta foarte mult daca mi-ar explica careva EXACT ce trebe facut (nu din cauza ca-s blonda, ci din cauza ca am incercat o groaza de lucruri fara rezultat)

am Creative Technology, Ltd WebCam NX [PD1110], am instalat kerne-source si spca5xx

sper sa ma ajutati!!

niciun program nu ţi-o recunoaşte? nici skype, nici kopete, nimic?
un lsusb -vv ar fi de folos dacă ai da în consolă, după care output-ul să-l postezi pe forum

Cred că trebuie să instalezi pachetul dkms-gspcav1 pentru a putea folosi webcam-ul.

mergând pe ideea de aici, am ajuns aici şi apoi aici. s-ar putea să reuşeşti folosind aceste module. totuşi, nu mi-ai zis ce-ai făcut tu până acum şi n-a mers.

am instalat kernel-source: 2.6.22.9-desktop586-1mdv si acu dkms-gspcav1 (din ultimul link ce mi-ai scris)
dar cand scriu in consola modprobe gspcav1 imi da eroare
mi-am instalat camorama sa verific daca totusi imi merge webcam-u, dar nu merge:
Could not connect to video device (/dev/video0)

pana acu am incercat si cu spca5xx, dar la faza cu modprobe nu-mi merge ???

deci ce mai trebe sa fac, sau unde am gresit?? please help me!! :'(

sincer, nu ştiu ce să zic. din păcate, nu am prea mare experienţă cu camerele web. eu pe-a mea am reuşit s-o fac mai mult din noroc. încearcă să te adresezi dezvoltatorilor acelui driver sau forumului mandriva.com

asta o faci cu
urpmq kernel-source

apoi cand il gasesti
urpmi kernel-source-CE_KERNEL_AI

ca sa te asiguri ca totul merge bine, iti recomand sa dezinstalezi o data dkms-gspcav1
urpme dkms-gspcav1

apoi instalezi dkms-gspcav1
urpmi dkms-spcav1

daca totul este ok, o sa dai un restart la calculator, si ar trebui sa iti functioneze camera.
sa nu uiti sa ne inviti pe toti sa vedem cat de bine iti functioneza :)
